If you come up on on July 5 as your pulling up to the fest grounds on the left youll see tons of campers in lines in a field. You can camp over night and get up no later then 530. 600 the line moves in some what of an order and you can go in and grab any spot that is not reserved. you get tarp tags and put down a tarp to reserve your spot or u put your camper in that spot. Dont setup a tent if you cant stay the week, itll blow down for sure. If you dont live to far its worth it. Before we had a reserved spot thats what we did. We live close so we put our camper and truck in line during the week before the opening day. Always the sat befor HCF. Its a crazy night and morning but its fun. Most people stay up all night and party. You can buy your camping tickets and admition tickets right there. Let me know if you need more info. Hope this helps.
